I. Guided Special Exhibition Tour
Duration: approx. 1 to 1 ½ hours
Ages: appropriate for all ages
Costs: €25/group (plus zoo admission fees)
II. Educational Program: "Zoo Stories"
Duration: approx. 1 ½ hours
Grades: 1-4
Costs: € 35/group (plus zoo admission fees)
The programs accompanying the special exhibition were designed by the LWL-Museumsamt.
Guided Tours and Educational Programs Accompanying the Permanent Exhibition
Educational programs and materials for school groups (suitable for private groups and birthday parties as well)
I. Guided Museum Tours
Duration: approx. 1 hour
Ages: appropriate for all ages
Costs: €25 (plus zoo admission fees)
Students will be introduced to the different parts of the exhibition: evolution of the horse, wild and free-roaming horses, biology of the horse, horse breeding, use of horses over the course of time, equestrian sports.
II. Educational Program: Cowboys in Westphalia
Duration: approx. 1 ½ hours
Grades: 1-4
Costs: €35 (plus zoo admission fees)
III. Educational Program: From the "Prehistoric Horse" to the "Working Horse"
Duration: approx. 1 ½ hours
Grades: 1-10
Costs: €35 (plus zoo admission fees)
IV. Educational Program: Working Horses
Duration: approx. 1 1/2 hours
Grades: 5-10
Costs: €35 (plus zoo admission fees)
V. Work Sheets for Grades 3-6/ Answer Keys
Costs: €4 for printed copies via mail (incl. three different work sheets)
€8 for one set of work sheets (35 sheets) picked up at the museum
There are three different kinds of work sheets:
